How do I make my contact details readable by an agent?
On homepage, contact and booking pages we look for a mailto: or tel: link in the HTML.
What it is
A `mailto:` or `tel:` link states a contact route as data. The address is in the href, so it can be read and used without interpreting the surrounding design.
Either one present is a Pass. A page with no such link but with a form is a Warning, because the form is the only route. Neither is a Fail.
We run this Check on pages whose address reads as homepage, contact or booking. The Evidence lists the addresses and numbers we found, in full.
Why an agent needs it
An email address rendered as an image, or split across spans to defeat scrapers, is unreadable to an agent acting for a customer.
A form is a slower and less certain route. It has to be understood, filled correctly and submitted, and it gives the agent no confirmation it can pass back.
The Fix
Publish at least one real `mailto:` or `tel:` link on your homepage and your contact page. Put the address in the href, not only in the link text.
Then declare the same route as a `contactPoint` in your Organization JSON-LD, so it is stated as data as well as linked.
Publish the link first, then Rescan to confirm we can see it.
This one is a change in your own markup or edge configuration, so the Fix Pack cannot write it for you. A Report names every page it affects, with the Evidence.
